Service Road

Well it finally happened!!  Saturday January 18, 2014 might be a day that I never forget as it was my first run on the Service Road.  For those of you not familiar with Cape Cod, it can be challenging to find a long route with some good hills, but luckily my experienced running friends introduced me to the Service Road.  The Service Road runs adjacent to Route 6 from Barnstable to Sandwich and its filled with felt like endless hills.  To make the day even better, it was raining pretty good!  Here”s a glimpse at the elevation chart from my Garmin watch.

I was shocked that I was able to complete the run and felt strong and confident while I was out there.  A solid 13 miles in just over two hours.  Hoping to improve on this over the next couple months.  Check out this crazy group who helped pushed me through my first run of the Service Road, love you guys!

Thank you to Megan Sabatinelli, Mita Gupa, and Franklin Chase for their generous donations!  Every donation, big or small, helps and I could not do this without all of you!  My total raised so far $1690.
