Happy New Year

Welcome to 2014!  I am hoping that this is going to be my year.  I am looking forward to a new beginning, and a healthy year filled with love and happiness.  If today is an indication, I definitely started things off with a great run.  I joined the Winter Warrior program through Bayside Runner in conjunction with my favorite workout studio, Personalized Fitness Solutions.  So the mission is to run or walk either 1 mile, 3 miles, or 5 miles everyday for the month of January outside.  I really wanted to do the 5 miles but due to my training program for Boston this is not my best option.  I have decided to do the one mile day, the smart option.  Today we had a group kick off run from PFS and it was a great 5 mile course and a great turn out.  Here is our Warrior Picture.  IMG_1367

The other great thing is that my running partner, Lori Miranda, got a number for the Boston Marathon!!!!!!!!   Lori had applied to the Dana Farber Team in hopes of us venturing out on this journey together but due to the amount of applicants she was not selected.  I was so disappointed that she would not be running Boston with me.  We started picking our running and training up in June in the hopes of Boston 2014.  I owe the committee at the Cape Cod Athletic Club a huge thanks because she was selected as one of their waiver numbers!!!  Lori has been an amazing friend, especially this year when  life was extremely challenging.  I am looking forward to spending this winter running with Lori and many others.  Here’s a photo from Falmouth in the Fall 2013 of Lori and I.  She has really pushed me to be a better running and a better person.  I took 8 minutes off my best time for Falmouth in November.

What a better way to start the new year off then by donating to a great cause and one run closer to a world without CANCER!!
